On March 11,2011，a terrible earthquake hit/struck the northeastern part of Japan.The earthquake，considered as the most destructive one in Japan's history，made most areas in Gongcheng lie in ruins within a few minutes and caused serious nuclear leak.About 20,000 people lost their lives during the earthquake and tens of thousands of people were injured.After the earthquake，the Japanese government organized the rescue work right away and people all over the world came to help as well.China donated a large number of disaster relief materials to help the Japanese to rebuild their homes.
