【点拨】desire在句中意为“愿望”，用作名词，其后常接for sth.或to do sth.。desire后接同位语从句或表语从句时，从句中都要用虚拟语气，即(should) do。如：
As the only child of the family, she has the desire to buy a big house for her parents.
I desire to go back to my college to visit my teacher.
Her desire was that she (should) work as a nurse in hospital when she grew up.
【拓展】desire及其派生词的用法和意义都比较丰富。请看：
